(670 The Score) Everything was going well for the sliding White Sox through the first six innings Saturday evening. Right-hander Lance Lynn was no-hitting the Rays, and the White Sox held a 3-0 lead.
Then the seventh inning happened.
In the latest chapter of the White Sox’s nightmarish season, they allowed 10 runs to the Rays in the seventh inning, turning what could’ve been a much-needed skid-busting win into the latest demoralizing setback in what has stretched into a 10-game losing streak, the franchise’s longest since 2013. Amid the White Sox’s meltdown, fans at Guaranteed Rate Field chanted “sell the team,” which has been owned by Jerry Reinsdorf since 1981. The chants continued into the eighth inning.
The White Sox's 12-3 loss dropped them to 7-21, which is tied for their worst in franchise history through 28 games, according to NBC Sports Chicago. The 1948 White Sox also started 7-21.
The White Sox haven’t won any of their nine series this season. They’ve lost eight of them and split one of them.
