(670 The Score) White Sox closer Liam Hendriks is especially excited to play a game at the "Field of Dreams" site in Dyersville, Iowa on Aug. 12 -- and he's got an idea to make it even better.
Hendriks is a big fan of the famous movie and hopes to have the stars of it attend the game, he told Scott Merkin of MLB.com. Hendriks, 32, made a plea for Ray Liotta, Kevin Costner and James Earl Jones to be present when the White Sox play the Yankees at the specially constructed stadium at the famed Iowa farm amid the cornfields where the 1989 movie was filmed.
"Ray, come on down," Hendriks said, per MLB.com. "If we can figure that out and maybe get Kevin down there, it will be something special to get it going. Even James Earl Jones. Who doesn’t want to meet Darth Vader?"
The "Field of Dreams" game was initially scheduled for 2020 before the pandemic led to it being postponed to this season.
