(670 The Score) The White Sox on Tuesday activated outfielder Billy Hamilton from the injured list amid a series of roster moves.
Hamilton hasn’t played since June 5 due to a right oblique strain. Upon his return, the switch-hitting Hamilton is expected to only bat from the right side due to the discomfort created when swinging left-handed, manager Tony La Russa said Monday.
Hamilton’s return will help provide depth in center field as the White Sox have been decimated by injuries. He’s hitting .217 with a .652 OPS this season.

In another move, the White Sox placed outfielder Jake Lamb on the 10-day injured list with a right quad strain. He’s hitting .224 with five homers and a .757 OPS in 31 games.
Additionally, the White Sox recalled first baseman Gavin Sheets from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned outfielder Luis Gonzalez there. Sheets will provide depth at first base after White Sox star Jose Abreu exited the game Sunday when he was hit in the left knee by a fastball.
The White Sox host the Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday evening.
