(670 The Score) The White Sox placed designated hitter Eloy Jimenez on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with a left hamstring strain.
Jimenez appeared to suffer the injury while running the bases in the White Sox’s win against the Blue Jays on Tuesday. It continued a frustrating trend for Jimenez, who has suffered a series of soft-tissue injuries over the years and who has played in just 55% of the White Sox’s game since the 2021 season started.
Jimenez, 27, is hitting .231 with five homers, 16 RBIs and a .668 OPS in 36 games this season.
In other moves Wednesday, the White Sox placed right-hander Steven Wilson on the 15-day injured list with a back strain and recalled outfielder Zach DeLoach and right-hander Nick Nastrini from Triple-A Charlotte.
Wilson has posted a 2.84 ERA in 21 appearances for the White Sox this season.
DeLoach, 25, was hitting .263 with two homers and 18 RBIs in 38 games at Triple-A. He has no MLB experience.
Nastrini, 24, allowed seven earned runs in eight innings (7.88 ERA) in two starts for the White Sox earlier this season. He has posted a 5.83 ERA in six starts at Triple-A in 2024. Nastrini will start when the White Sox visit the Blue Jays on Wednesday evening.
