(670 The Score) The White Sox on Tuesday placed right-hander Michael Kopech on the 15-day injured list with a left knee strain.
Kopech exited with the injury after facing four batters and without recording an out in the White Sox’s 6-4 loss to the Royals on Monday afternoon.
He tweaked the knee during a warmup pitch just before the bottom of the first inning started, then was soon pulled after trying to give it a go.
Kopech has a 3.58 ERA in 23 starts this season.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled lefty reliever Tanner Banks from Triple-A Charlotte. He has a 3.16 ERA in 29 relief appearances for the White Sox this season.
