White Sox place Tim Anderson on injured list with right groin strain

(670 The Score) The White Sox have officially placed shortstop Tim Anderson on the 10-day injured list with a right groin strain.

Anderson suffered the groin injury during the fifth inning Sunday in the White Sox's 5-4 win over the Cubs at Guaranteed Rate Field. He appeared to be in clear pain and was helped off the field.

An All-Star last season, Anderson has hit .356 over 40 games this season. A timetable for Anderson's return has not yet been revealed.

The White Sox activated outfielder Luis Robert from the Covid injured list. He is hitting .285 over 31 games this season. Chicago placed pitchers Dylan Cease and Kendall Graveman on the restricted list, an indication neither player is vaccinated to COVID-19. Players are not permitted to playing in Toronto unless they have been fully vaccinated. Right-hander Kyle Crick was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte.

The White Sox take on the Blue Jays in Toronto with a three-game series beginning Tuesday night.
