(670 The Score) The White Sox have traded infielder Paul DeJong to the Royals, according to multiple reports Tuesday afternoon. In return, Chicago was set to get back Class-A right-hander Jarold Rosado, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reported.
The 30-year-old DeJong’s exit was no surprise, as he’s working on a one-year contract and had previously acknowledged he expected to be traded. DeJong is hitting .228 with 18 homers, 41 RBIs and a .706 OPS in 102 games this season.
DeJong is a shortstop but has also played some third base for the White Sox lately.
Rosado, 22, had posted a 1.85 ERA in 27 appearances at Class-A Carolina this season in the Royals organization.
The White Sox, who are riding a franchise-worst 15-game losing streak, will host the Royals on Tuesday evening at Guaranteed Rate Field.
