(670 The Score) The White Sox have traded right-hander Adrian Houser to the Rays, according to reports Thursday evening.
Houser, 32, was 6-2 with a 2.10 ERA and 1.22 WHIP in 11 starts for the White Sox this season. He was signed by the White Sox on May 20, then started later that day and worked six shutout innings.
Houser didn’t surrender more than three earned runs in his tenure with the White Sox. He has a career 4.00 ERA.
In return, the White Sox received 24-year-old infielder Curtis Mead, who hit .226 with three homers and eight RBIs in 49 games for the Rays this season. Chicago also received Double-A right-hander Duncan Davitt and Triple-A right-hander Benjamin Peoples.
The White Sox didn’t trade center fielder Luis Robert Jr. despite the expectation from many that he would be dealt. A former All-Star and Gold Glover, Robert is struggling this season. He's hitting just .213 with 11 home runs and 43 RBIs.
The White Sox have a 40-69 record this season.
