(WFAN) The scene at Yankee Stadium looked apocalyptic Wednesday afternoon, while the status of the Yankees' game against the White Sox scheduled for the evening was considered to be up in the air.
As captured by Newsday writer Erik Boland, there was a heavy haze in the outfield sky, which took on a red hue as a result of the wildfires in Canada.
The air quality in the New York area has been poor since Tuesday evening, when the Yankees and White Sox played under a red haze, but it was even more profound by Wednesday afternoon.
It was an eerie sight, to say the least, and one residents in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut were seeing outside of their homes throughout Wednesday.
