The other American League first basemen who are finalists are the Rangers’ Nathaniel Lowe, the Blue Jays’ Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Yankees’ Anthony Rizzo.

Abreu hit .304 with 15 homers, 75 RBIs and an .824 OPS in 157 games in 2022.

The other National League catchers who are finalists are the Dodgers’ Will Smith, the Phillies’ J.T. Realmuto and the Braves’ Travis D’arnaud.

Contreras hit .243 with 22 homers, 55 RBIs and an .815 OPS in 113 games this past season.
