Hughes, Harrelson Named Frick Award Finalists

(670 The Score) Cubs Radio play-by-play man Pat Hughes and retired White Sox television play-by-play man Ken "Hawk" Harrelson have been named two of eight finalists for the Ford C. Frick Award, which is presented annually for excellence in baseball broadcasting.

The other finalists are Joe Castiglione, Jacques Doucet, Tom Hamilton, Mike Shannon, Dewayne Staats and the late Ned Martin.

Harrelson was a Frick Award finalist in 2007, 2014 and 2017.

A 15-member committee comprised of the 11 living Frick Award recipients and four broadcast historians/columnists will determine the winner, which will be announced at the Winter Meetings in San Diego on Dec. 11.
