White Sox Won't Retain Hitting Coach Todd Steverson

(670 The Score) The White Sox won't retain hitting coach Todd Steverson or assistant hitting coach Greg Sparks for 2020, they announced Wednesday afternoon.

The rest of the team's coaching staff will return under manager Rick Renteria.

Steverson had been the White Sox's hitting coach since the 2014 season. Sparks had been an assistant hitting coach for the organization since the 2016 season.

The White Sox were 13th in the American League in averaging 4.4 runs per game in 2019. Their .728 OPS ranked 12th in the AL.

Triple-A Charlotte hitting coach Frank Menechino is expected to be considered for one of the open jobs. He joined the White Sox for the last two weeks of the season.
