(670 The Score) White Sox second baseman Yolmer Sanchez was named a Gold Glove winner Sunday evening.

Sanchez beat out the Astros' Jose Altuve and the Yankees' DJ LaMahieu for the award. It's the first such honor of his career.

Sanchez led all American League second basemen in defensive WAR and UZR by a solid margin, according to Fangraphs. Sanchez had a .987 fielding percentage this past season, making just nine errors in 149 games.

White Sox right-hander Lucas Giolito was also a Gold Glove finalist, but Mariners right-hander Mike Leake earned that honor among the American League pitchers.
