Josh Rowntree is an award-winning reporter, anchor and show host for The Fan and News Radio KDKA.
Josh joined KDKA Radio and The Fan in April of 2016. He has worked in broadcasting since 2009.
For the Fan, Josh actively covers the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Pitt, as well as other college teams and sporting events locally. He hosts shows on The Fan and has served as an update anchor. In 2022, Josh was part of The Fan’s coverage of Ben Roethlisberger’s final game at Heinz Field, for which Audacy Pittsburgh received a Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters 2022 Excellence in Broadcasting Award.
For KDKA Radio, Josh is a news anchor and reporter, as well as a traffic anchor.
He is the play-by-play voice for Pitt Women's Basketball, a role he has occupied since 2018. Josh additionally serves as a play-by-play broadcaster on The ACC Network, covering ACC baseball, soccer, softball, volleyball, lacrosse and gymnastics.
Since 2018, Josh has worked with the Associate Press' radio division and was named the AP Radio Sports Contributor of the Year in 2020, an award given to the top sports radio contributor in the country.
He has also served as a play-by-play announcer, show host, writer and social media manager for the TribLIVE High School Sports Network (formerly MSA Sports Network) and TribLIVE. In his time there, he has covered a dozen different high school and collegiate sports.
Additionally, Josh works as a play-by-play broadcaster with Carlow University and is a freelance writer for other entities.
Josh grew up in Pittsburgh and is a 2010 graduate of Point Park University with a BA in broadcast journalism. He and his wife Chelsea reside in the North Hills with their dog, Burt.
