(92.3 The Fan) Cavaliers wing Isaac Okoro on Thursday entered the NBA’s health and safety protocols, the team announced.
Okoro will have to miss at least 10 days unless he tests negative 24 hours apart. He has landed in the virus protocols as the league’s COVID-19 problem continues to grow. There were 34 players across the NBA in the health and safety protocols as of Thursday afternoon, according to the Sporting News. Okoro is currently the only Cavaliers player in the protocols.
The 20-year-old Okoro is averaging 9.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 28.8 minutes across 23 games, including 19 starts. He had been playing his best basketball of the season recently, scoring 16 or more points in each of the team’s past four games.
The Cavaliers (18-12) – who are on a five-game winning streak – visit the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday and the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.
