CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) – Cedi Osman is one of two Cavaliers who remember what it was like playing with LeBron James and competing for NBA championships in Cleveland.

Kevin Love would be the other.

Since James departed for the Lakers, the Cavs have been trying to rebuild and climb out of James’ enormous shadow following four consecutive trips to the NBA Finals and the 2016 NBA championship, Cleveland’s first title in 52 years.

Osman, who played with James in 2017-18 as a rookie, believes they’ve finally done just that after suffering through three difficult seasons that saw them win a total of 60 games.

“I think we did that, especially this year,” Osman told Bull and Fox Thursday afternoon on 92.3 The Fan. “We have a whole different team. We’re playing a lot differently… We’re the Cleveland Cavaliers now. Of course the 2017-2018 [team] is in the past. Right now, this is the cast we got.

“It’s time to build our own destiny.”

Osman and the Cavs are this season’s feel-good story and surprise team at 34-21. They’ve won 12 of 15 and are the fourth seed in the Eastern Conference but are also just 1 full game out of the top spot.
