The Indians signed Gonzalez in March hoping the veteran had something left to offer in the outfield. CarGo posted a .348 batting average with one home run and three RBI in 23 minor-league at-bats.
They sent Jefry Rodriguez back to Triple-A after he made his Indians' debut in Saturday's 3-0 loss to Kansas City.
Gonzalez believes he has something left in the tank and he showed it in just six minor-league games. He led the Columbus Clippers with a .483 on-base percentage. He'll join a crowded outfield that includes Greg Allen, Jordan Luplow and Tyler Nayquin.
Gonzalez, 33, posted a .276 batting average, hit 16 home runs and finished with 64 RBI for Colorado last season.
