CLEVELAND, Ohio (92.3 The Fan) - The Cleveland Indians are finalizing a deal with free agent outfielder Eddie Rosario, according to reports.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand first reported the story, while later reporting the deal to be for one year, $8 million, with the deal pending a physical.

The 29-year-old Rosario spent his first six seasons with the Minnesota Twins as a solid bat amongst the Twins' outfield. This past season saw the Puerto Rico native rope 13 home runs and 42 runs batted in with a .277/.310/.478 slash line. From 2016 to 2019, Rosario batted .284/.317/.495, hitting a combined 83 home runs and 264 RBIs. His best season to date came in 2019, where he roped 32 home runs and 109 ribbies.

It's against Indians pitching where Rosario has raked often; in 45 games at Progressive Field, Rosario has hit .353 with a 1.031 OPS. Rosario’s 11 home runs, 12 doubles, and three triples are his career bests among any road ballpark. He now joins an outfield core that ranked lowest among the majors in slugging in 2020.

The announcement of the deal comes the same day the Indians finalized their re-signing of infielder César Hernández to a 1-year, $5 million contract.
