It’s been an injury riddled season for the Cleveland Indians starting rotation in 2021, but on Friday night, the Indians will have a fully healthy rotation for the first time since May as ace Shane Bieber will make his return to the mound against the Chicago White Sox.

Bieber last made a start on June 13th against the Seattle Mariners before going on the injured-list with a right shoulder strain. That start was his only start this year allowing more than three earned runs (five runs).

The right-hander has made 14 starts in 2021, racking up 130 strikeouts, 33 walks and a 3.28 ERA in 90 ⅔ innings.

With the breakout success of young pitchers Triston McKenzie and Cal Quantrill, the returns of Bieber, Aaron Civale, and Zach Plesac will give fans a glimpse into what the future of Cleveland’s rotation will be in 2022 and beyond.

Double it up!

Following the team’s postponement of Wednesday night’s matchup against the Kansas City Royals, the Indians will face off against the Chicago White Sox in a doubleheader on Thursday.

Game one’s first pitch is scheduled for 1:10 pm, game two is scheduled for 6:10 pm as of writing. Civale will start in the first of the two games, with Plesac taking the latter half.

Wednesday night’s matchup will be made up on Monday, September 27th at 1:10pm. Starting is to be determined.
