PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - According to Le’Veon Bell, the Steelers were in talks with the Jets for a trade.

The New York running back made the claim on the Uninterrupted “17 weeks” podcast.

Before the trade deadline there were rumors that the Jets were looking to move Bell and he says his agent confirmed those rumors to him.

Other teams that were reportedly interested in Bell were the Houston Texans, Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs.

Bell added that the Jets were asking a lot for the trade that ultimately didn’t happen.

The All-Pro running back held out last year, refusing to sign the Franchise Tag the Steelers had placed on him.

Both sides were looking for a long-term deal but Bell didn’t think the Steelers were giving him enough guaranteed money.

With New York already paying part of the guaranteed money for this season, it would’ve been something Pittsburgh could probably deal with financially.
