The injuries were out in full force on Sunday at Acrisure Stadium during the Steelers’ game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, with Pittsburgh taking the worst of it.
First, Minkah Fitzpatrick exited the game in the first quarter and was ruled out after sustaining a hamstring injury while he was attempting to cover Jags receiver Christian Kirk, which may have been the result of the slick, rainy conditions on Sunday.
Later, in the second quarter, quarterback Kenny Pickett was forced out of the game after taking a sack from Adam Gotsis and landing hard on his right side. He was replaced by Mitchell Trubisky.
The sack of Pickett arguably could have been roughing the passer as Gotsis appeared to put weight on Pickett as he drilled him into the ground.
Following halftime, Pickett was seen warming up and appeared as if he would return to the game but was ultimately downgraded to out with a rib injury.
Both Fitzpatrick and Pickett would be major losses for the Steelers should they miss any extended amount of time.
