The NFL finance committee has informally voted to recommend the approval of the Josh Harris-led group buying the Washington Commanders from Dan Snyder for $6.05 billion, the Washington Post reported.

The vote, which was an unofficial straw poll of the owners present for the remote meeting, comes ahead of the full vote of the league's owners on Thursday, July 20, in which the finance committee is expected to give their official approval before the full owner vote in which at least 24 of the 32 owners are needed to affirm the sale at an in-person meeting in Minnesota.

“This is a good outcome,” a person familiar with the deliberations told the Post.

The post reported that attorneys for the league and Snyder reached an agreement on certain issues which had threatened to complicate the deal's closing. The sale is expected to close as soon as Friday after Thursday's vote.

Another interesting note, the investigation being conducted by Mary Jo White could be released soon after. And Snyder recently spoke with White for the investigation, the Post reported.
