Dobbs, who was Ben Roethlisberger’s backup last season, dropped down to third string after it was announced Mason Rudolph would be Roethlisberger’s backup his season.

There has been interest in Dobbs for some time now. He did not dress for Sunday night's 33-3 loss to New England.

Dobbs was selected by the Steelers in the fourth round of the 2017 draft out of the University of Tennessee.

Dobbs played in five regular season games with the Steelers completing 6 of 12 passes during his tenure.
