PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The chants started on the second play of the second quarter, ‘Mason Rudolph’ yelled in four syllable unison. It was heard again following an interception by Mitch Trubisky which set the New England offense up at the Steelers 11-yard line.

Patriots would score two plays later and the chants continued along with a few random fans yelling ‘Fire Tomlin’. The boos would resurface after a 34-yard Pressley Harvin punt.

The Steelers heard you.

“Was I aware of it?” Najee Harris said repeating the question. “There was like 66,000 people booing. Of course, I was aware of it.”

“Since I’ve been here I’ve heard boos to be honest with you. The fans are just eager to see their team win. That’s something that we should give to them and we’re not doing that.”

“Fans obviously want to see their team win. We are not doing that as of these last two games. There’s not really much you can tell the fans right now other than be patient. Obviously, nobody hates losing more than us as a team. We already know how you feel.”

He wasn’t the only one to hear you, Thursday’s starting quarterback heard you too.

“It’s understandable,” said quarterback Mitch Trubisky. “We played like crap in the first half. It is what it is. I mean, they’re frustrated. We’re all frustrated. I got to play better. That’s the bottom line.”

“We just need to get better,” Harris said. “We are still glad you are coming to the games. We just need to do better here, especially at home and providing the fans with a win. It’s something we have to improve on.”

“You hear it, you just got to ignore it and keep playing,” said receiver Diontae Johnson. “You can’t be worrying about what everyone else is saying about the game because they are not on the field with us. There is no reason to pay attention to it.”

There is only one more home game left, two days before Christmas against Cincinnati. Maybe the holiday spirit, and a win over Indianapolis, will turn that around.
