Ladies and gentlemen - The Dallas Cowboys have signed a free agent from outside the organization on the first day of NFL free agency.
According to multiple reports, the Cowboys have signed former Denver Broncos running back Javonte Williams to a one-year deal worth up to $3.5 million.
NFL Media's Tom Pelissero was the first to report the news of the agreement.
Williams, 24, spent his first four seasons with the Broncos after being selected in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of North Carolina. He averaged 4.0 yards per carry and ran for 2,394 yards and 11 touchdowns in 54 games.
In the receiving game, Williams totaled 966 career yards on 158 receptions and scored five touchdowns. Williams had a career-high 52 catches for 346 yards in 2024.
Williams' addition likely spells the end to Rico Dowdle's time with the Dallas Cowboys, who is expected to earn a more lucrative contract in the market.
