The Dallas Cowboys might get a boost in their secondary on Sunday against the Detroit Lions with the return of 2023 First-Team All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland.
"It's possible you might get a boost and get Bland back this week," Zach Wolchuk said Tuesday afternoon on 105.3 The Fan.
Shortly after Wolchuk made those comments on The GBag Nation, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com published an article with Cowboys EVP Stephen Jones quoted as saying that Bland "has a real chance" of suiting up against Detroit on Sunday afternoon at AT&T Stadium.
"I think DaRon Bland has a real chance … I don't know if he'll play the whole game but I think he's ready to start mixing it up," Jones told Eatman on Tuesday. "Short of a real setback, DaRon should be ready to dress and help us on the defensive side of the ball and the secondary."
The news on Bland comes several hours after Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones told Shan and RJ on 105.3 The Fan that he didn't "think (Bland) he'll get there this week." However, Jones did say it wasn't 'impossible' that he might return.
Bland was placed on injured reserve after suffering a stress fracture in his foot during training camp and missed the team's first five games of the season. He led the NFL in interceptions last season with nine and returned five of them for touchdowns to set an NFL record.
