Cowboys TE Jake Ferguson could miss time with knee injury
The Dallas Cowboys could be without their top tight end next week for their matchup vs. the New Orleans Saints.
According to reports from NFL insider Ian Rapoport, and MRI has revealed that Jake Ferguson has suffered a sprained MCL and bone bruise. He will be 'week-to-week'.
That said, according to a separate report from ESPN's Todd Archer, Ferguson could still play vs. the Saints.
Ferguson reacted to the positive report on his X account on Monday morning.
The injury occurred when Ferguson attempted was hauling in a catch from Dak Prescott with the Cowboys leading 27-10 with 6:23 left if the first half. Ferguson came down awkwardly on his leg during the tackle, and was out for the rest of the game.
Ferguson was seen by reporters wearing a wrap on his knee and walking with a noticeable limp after the game.
Ferguson added that "he felt he could have played through" the injury and quarterback Dak Prescott said after the game that Ferguson may have avoided a serious injury.
"I think we've dodged a big one. Just talk to him, he gave me a lot of confidence. ... He gave me good news," Prescott said, according to Nick Harris of DallasCowboys.com.
And fortunately for the Cowboys, he was right.
