Cowboys to sign DT Solomon Thomas to 2-year deal

Solomon Thomas is coming home.

The Dallas Cowboys agreed to a two-year deal worth up to $8 million with the former New York Jets defensive tackle on Tuesday, according to ESPN insider Adam Schefter..

Thomas, a Coppell High School alum, was selected by the San Francisco 49ers with the third overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. Thomas spent the first four years of his career in San Francisco and one in Las Vegas before joining the Jets in 2022.

Thomas, 29, played under new Cowboys' defensive line coach Aaron Whitecotton in New York, who was hired on Brian Schottenheimer's staff in January.

Thomas appeared in 16 games with the Jets in 2024 and compiled 26 tackles, five tackles for loss, and three and a half sacks in a rotational role.
