Mike McCarthy updates playing status of TE Jake Ferguson, other Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had a rough time of it against the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football in more ways than one.

Outside of the 34-10 loss, the Cowboys also suffered several injuries, including to tight end Jake Ferguson and offensive guard Zack Martin.

During his press conference on Monday, Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy updated the status of those injuries - most notably of Ferguson, who was knocked out of the game with a concussion.

Per McCarthy, Ferguson will be "hard pressed" to play this week as he continues to go through the concussion protocol.

Elsewhere, McCarthy says the Cowboys are still in the process of evaluating Martin, and did not have any update for him outside of that.

McCarthy also did not update the status of left guard Tyler Smith or Tyler Guyton, both of whom were injured vs. Houston as well.

The Cowboys will be on the field again after a short week this Sunday when they travel to face the Washington Commanders.
