Anger was reportedly "unlikely" to be brought back in 2022 due to his rising market value, but with the Cowboys suddenly having money to spend thanks to the Randy Gregory debacle, they are bringing back the punter on a three-year, $9 million deal, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Anger was named to his first career Pro Bowl roster and was second-team All-Pro in 2021 after he led the league and set a franchise record with a 44.6 net average on his punts.

The 33-year-old had 24 punts downed inside the 20-yard line and the hangtime on his punts prevented opponents from ripping off big returns - just 6.5 yards per return - which was the third-fewest in the NFL.
