DFW sports is incredibly fortunate to have two of the brightest stars in all of sports. Dallas Cowboys QB Dak Prescott and Dallas Mavericks guard Luka Doncic have already both become stars in the NFL and the NBA.
Doncic, 22, is already a two-time First-Team All-NBA selection and former NBA Rookie of the Year. Meanwhile, Prescott, 28, is a former NFL AP Offensive Rookie of the Year and a two-time Pro-Bowler.
Both players have shown a flair for the dramatic and a willingness to perform under the brightest lights. They both are part of the Jordan Brand family and have shown support for the other on numerous occasions throughout their respective playing careers.
Both are incredibly popular in the DFW market, and both have legions of fans not only in Texas, but around the world.
But who will be the bigger DFW sports star over the next five years?
Prescott has led the Cowboys to a 5-1 start this season and for his career has a 47-28 record as a starter through 75 games. Doncic, meanwhile, has led the Mavericks to the NBA Playoffs twice and pushed the Los Angeles Clippers to seven games this past postseason.
Both players appear headed for more success as their careers go forward and their teams will certainly be the beneficiaries of their exploits. Prescott and Doncic are both projected to win championships with their franchises in the future and for fans of both teams.

But if Dak Prescott can deliver a Super Bowl title to arguably the most popular franchise in all of sports, his level has the potential to be any fire.
Prescott delivering a sixth championship to a Cowboys franchise that has gone over two-and-a-half decades without one would vault the former Mississippi St. product into the stratosphere of superstardom, not only for the Dallas Cowboys but in all the NFL.
Cowboys’ fans have been clamoring for a title, downright desperate for one for years and Prescott appears poised to deliver them one. While, yes, Doncic winning would be incredible for the Mavericks and its fans, the franchise can fall back on the title it won in 2011.
That said the drought has not been nearly as long for the Mavericks as has been for the Cowboys.
While one could make the argument that Doncic will be the bigger global star over the next five years given his international fame and the NBA’s global marketing strategy, Prescott (if he wins a title) will be the bigger DFW sports star.
Regardless, DFW sports is in good hands with two budding superstars that appear poised to usher in the next era of great sports moments, not only for DFW, but for all of Texas.
