ESPN's Senior Reporters Brian Windhorst and Tim Bontemps both appeared on 92.9 FM ESPN on Tuesday (10/5) in advance of the Memphis Grizzlies' first preseason game.
Brian Windhorst, on 92.9 FM ESPN's Jason & John Show, said, "(Jaren Jackson Jr.) is the prototypical guy that you need in today's NBA." Later, during the Gary Parrish Show, ESPN's Tim Bontemps added, "Memphis is banking on Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. being the pillars of an elite Western Conference team."
It's clear that Ja Morant being an All-Star is something the Grizzlies see happening, as President of Basketball Operations Zach Kleiman suggested, but the real key to unlocking the Grizzlies overall success just might be Jaren Jackson Jr. being healthy and playing at a high level. Bontemps said, "(The Grizzlies will) be thrilled if (Jackson) has a breakout season."
