From AP and multiple reports: Former Memphis Grizzlies star Brandon Clarke died at age 29 from the combined toxic effects of heroin and cocaine, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. Authorities officially ruled his death accidental after completing toxicology testing and their investigation. TMZ was early to the story as well.

Clarke was found unresponsive at a residence in the Los Angeles area on May 11, 2026. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
Early reports indicated that drug paraphernalia had been discovered, and investigators initially deferred announcing a cause of death while awaiting toxicology results. Once those results were complete, the medical examiner concluded that the fatal overdose was accidental.
