Memphis, Tenn. – The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team signed forward/center Taj Gibson to a multi-year contract. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed. In a related move, the Grizzlies reached a buyout agreement with forward Kyle Anderson.

Gibson (6-9, 232), a 16-year NBA veteran, has appeared in 1,002 regular season games (461 starts) and has averaged 8.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 23.0 minutes for the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves, New York Knicks, Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons and Charlotte Hornets. The 40-year-old, who made 37 appearances (11 starts) for Charlotte last season, also has competed in 71 games (20 starts) over nine trips to the NBA Playoffs.
A native of Brooklyn, Gibson was selected by Chicago with the 26th overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft following three seasons at the University of Southern California.
Anderson (6-9, 230) has appeared in 738 games (311 starts) over 12 NBA seasons and holds career averages of 6.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steals in 21.4 minutes with the San Antonio Spurs, Grizzlies, Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Miami Heat and Utah Jazz. Selected with the 30th overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft out of UCLA, the 32-year-old New York native has played 24 games (three starts) for the Jazz and Grizzlies this season.
