On Thursday (3/27) the Memphis Grizzlies fell to the Oklahoma City Thunder, 125-104, at the Paycom Center. The game was tied with seven minutes remaining when Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander returned to the court, igniting a decisive 15-0 run that secured Oklahoma City's victory.
Gilgeous-Alexander led all scorers with 37 points, adding six assists and three steals without committing a turnover in over 33 minutes. Forward Jalen Williams, returning from a hip injury, contributed 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists. Center Isaiah Hartenstein posted a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
The Thunder's defense was instrumental, outscoring Memphis 29-9 off turnovers and forcing seven turnovers in the pivotal fourth quarter. For the Grizzlies, forward Jaren Jackson Jr. led with 27 points, scoring 10 of the team's 15 fourth-quarter points. Guard Scotty Pippen Jr., starting in place of the injured Ja Morant, scored 12 points in the first quarter.
This loss marks Memphis's fourth in five games, dropping them to fifth place in the Western Conference standings.
