The Memphis Grizzlies continued their strong showing in Las Vegas with a convincing 106-85 victory over the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, improving to 2-1 in NBA Summer League play. Memphis used a dominant second half to pull away after trailing 24-22 at the end of the first quarter. The Grizzlies outscored Golden State 59-41 over the final two quarters, turning a three-point halftime lead into a 21-point rout.
Jason & John discussed the Grizzlies summer competitiveness and picks on Wednesday's (7/15) 92.9 FM ESPN J&J Show:
Cam Boozer once again played a major role, anchoring Memphis on both ends of the floor while helping spark the decisive third-quarter surge. The Grizzlies' offense clicked throughout the night, sharing the basketball, knocking down perimeter shots and forcing the Warriors into difficult possessions. Memphis finished with another balanced scoring effort, receiving key contributions throughout the rotation while continuing to build chemistry with its young roster. Defensively, the Grizzlies limited Golden State to just 13 third-quarter points, effectively putting the game out of reach before closing it out with a strong fourth quarter. The win keeps Memphis in the hunt as Summer League play continues with one preliminary game remaining.
