92.9 FM ESPN: Grizzlies drop 4th in a row to the Hornets 112-97

The Memphis Grizzlies dropped a 112–97 home loss to the Charlotte Hornets at FedExForum on Wednesday night, extending their rough stretch with their fourth straight defeat. Memphis fell behind early as Charlotte outscored them in the first quarter and built a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

Jaren Jackson Jr. led the Grizzlies with 26 points, while Cedric Coward added 17 and reserve GG Jackson chipped in 12 off the bench. However, Memphis couldn’t keep pace with the Hornets’ balanced attack. Charlotte was paced by Brandon Miller’s 26 points, Miles Bridges’ 20, LaMelo Ball’s 16, and a huge night from Moussa Diabate, who posted 18 points and 20 rebounds in a dominant effort on the glass.

Memphis’ offense sputtered in the second half as the Hornets pulled away, marking a disappointing result amid injuries and inconsistency for the Grizzlies this season.

Next game: the Grizzlies travel to New Orleans to take on the Pelicans Friday night (1/30) at 6:30 p.m. on 92.9 FM ESPN
