Monday (4/15) the Memphis Grizzlies fell 121–116 to the Golden State Warriors in a high-stakes NBA Play-In Tournament game, missing a chance to secure the Western Conference's seventh seed. Despite a late-game rally led by Desmond Bane (30 points), Ja Morant (22 points, playing through an ankle injury), and Jaren Jackson Jr., Memphis couldn't overcome a 20-point deficit. A critical five-second inbound violation in the final moments sealed their fate, allowing Stephen Curry to ice the game from the free-throw line.
Geoff Calkins discussed the loss with Daily Memphian Grizzlies Columnist Chris Herrington on Wed.

Golden State's victory was powered by Jimmy Butler III's 38 points and Curry's 37, including a perfect 13-for-13 from the line . The Warriors now advance to face the second-seeded Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies will play the winner of the Kings-Mavericks matchup for a final shot at the eighth seed.
