The Memphis Grizzlies officially waived guard Cole Anthony on Saturday (7/12) after finalizing a buyout agreement. The Anthony move clears the way for him to sign with the Milwaukee Bucks once he clears waivers. Anthony, traded from Orlando in June as part of the Desmond Bane deal, was cut to free up cap space to sign Jaren Jackson Jr. and make other moves. Expectations are he’ll land in Milwaukee, boosting their backcourt depth.

Meanwhile, Ja Morant spoke during a press availability in Las Vegas Saturday, reiterating his commitment to bringing strong leadership to the team. He emphasized his role as a locker-room motivator and on‐court communicator, saying he felt ready and eager to guide the team into the new season. Morant is vital as Memphis reshapes its roster. Morant is scheduled to complete a Nike "World Tour" marketing his shoes and brand. The trip to Vegas to support his teammates he branded as a "day trip".
