Desmond Bane led the Grizzlies with a game-high 38 points, including nine crucial points in the final 2:50. Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 27 points and 11 rebounds, while Zach Edey dominated the boards with a career-high 21 rebounds and six assists. Scotty Pippen Jr. added 15 points to the effort. This win marked Memphis's ninth consecutive triumph over Detroit and kept them competitive in the Western Conference playoff race.

The Pistons, who had clinched a playoff spot the previous night, were led by Cade Cunningham's 25 points and nine rebounds in his return from injury. Ausar Thompson and Isaiah Stewart also made significant contributions. Detroit was without Jalen Duren due to a leg contusion, while the Grizzlies missed star guard Ja Morant, sidelined with food poisoning. Notably, Malik Beasley hit his 300th three-pointer of the season, joining an elite group with Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and James Harden. ​
