J&J Show: Hunterbrook Media & Pablo Torre report on Pera / Ubiquity

After purchasing the Memphis Grizzlies in 2012, Robert Pera was a super public figure who went on to participate in the 2015 NBA All-Star Weekend Celebrity game. Infamously, Pera was on the brink of a scheduled charity one-on-one matchup against Grizzlies guard Tony Allen, before that was event was cancelled.

Fast forward to 2026 and Pera has been totally off the radar as an owner in Memphis, not speaking publicly to local Memphis press over the past 4 years.

On Tuesday (1/27) Hunterbook Media reported that Pera's Ubiquity technology is being used by Russian military units via 3rd party vendors (not sold directly, but sold by the vendors). The reporting DOES NOT suggest Ubiquity/Pera are directly selling to Russia.
