The turning point came late in the second quarter when star guard Ja Morant sustained a left hip injury after a collision with Thunder's Luguentz Dort. Morant exited the game with 15 points and five assists in 15 minutes and returned to the bench on crutches.
In Morant's absence, Oklahoma City capitalized, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scoring 31 points, Jalen Williams adding 26, and Chet Holmgren contributing 24 points—23 of which came in the second half.
