Jason & John interviewed ESPN NBA Front Office Insider Bobby Marks on Wednesday (1/29) and asked him about the possiblity of the Grizzlies acquiring Jimmy Butler in a trade before next week's deadline.
AUDIO:
A Jimmy Butler trade to the Memphis Grizzlies seems unlikely but not impossible. While Butler would bring elite two-way play and toughness, Miami remains competitive, and Pat Riley is unlikely to move him without a strong return. The Grizzlies would need to offer significant assets—likely multiple first-round picks and young talent like GG Jackson. However, Memphis is already cap-strapped and prioritizing its current core of Ja Morant, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Desmond Bane.
The Memphis Grizzlies host the Houston Rockets on Thursday (1/30) at 8:30 p.m. at FedExForum and the game will be live (pregame at 8:00 p.m.) on 92.9 FM ESPN.
