Shams/ESPN: Grizzlies "entertaining" Morant trade deals

Live coverage as the Memphis Grizzlies work to retool with a struggling superstar in Morant

ESPN’s Shams Charania reports that the Memphis Grizzlies are entertaining trade offers that could include star guard Ja Morant ahead of the Feb. 5 NBA trade deadline. Sources say this is the first time the Grizzlies have actively engaged other teams on potential Morant deals, with multiple teams showing interest and Memphis expected to prioritize draft picks and young players in return. Morant, 26 and under contract through the 2027-28 season, is still averaging around 19 points and 7.6 assists this year despite a down shooting season, and the team is weighing all paths forward, from retooling around him and Jaren Jackson Jr. to a full roster reset.
