Throwback night for Westbrook does in the young Grizzlies 123-114

Memphis couldn’t close the fourth quarter Monday night, falling 123-114 to the Sacramento Kings at FedExForum. Sacramento got a balanced attack: Russell Westbrook led the way with 25 points and 7 assists, Precious Achiuwa added 22 and 12 rebounds, and DeMar DeRozan scored 19. Daeqwon Plowden provided a big bench punch with 19, while Malik Monk chipped in 10.

The Grizzlies had six in double figures but couldn’t string together stops late. Javon Small paced Memphis with 21 points and 9 assists, Olivier-Maxence Prosper scored 17, and GG Jackson finished with 16. Jaylen Wells and Taylor Hendricks each had 12, Rayan Rupert added 10 rebounds, and Walter Clayton Jr. scored 9 as Memphis shot 12-of-34 from three.

The Kings won the glass 45-37 and outscored Memphis 31-25 in the fourth.
