The Memphis Grizzlies delivered a commanding performance at FedExForum on Thursday night (12/19), defeating the Golden State Warriors 144-93. The Grizzlies dominated from the outset, outscoring the Warriors 37-15 in the first quarter and extending their lead to 69-38 by halftime. Memphis maintained their offensive onslaught in the second half, finishing with a 51-point margin.
Santi Aldama led the Grizzlies with a double-double, recording 21 points and 14 rebounds. Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists, while Kyle Anderson added 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. For the Warriors, Andrew Wiggins was a bright spot, scoring 19 points and shooting 4-for-5 from three-point range.
The game featured a notable incident when Draymond Green and Zach Edey became involved in a scuffle, adding intensity to the matchup. Of course, what got Draymond's "feathers ruffled" was the block from behind by Ja Morant earlier in the sequence. Clearly the most indelible moment of the night.
This victory improves the Grizzlies' record to 19-9, while the Warriors fall to 14-12. Memphis' dominant performance underscores their strong position in the Western Conference.
