92.9 FM ESPN: Dainja no waiver & Cisse signs with Mavs

Memphis forward Dain Dainja has been unable to secure an NCAA waiver for an additional year of eligibility, officially ending his college career after five seasons between Baylor and Illinois before ending at Memphis. Dainja averaged 15.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks last season, anchoring the Tigers’ AAC title and NCAA Tournament push.

Head coach Penny Hardaway expressed deep disappointment, applauding Dainja’s dedication and hinting the program will seek other roster additions to fill the void. Dainja responded on X, simply posting: “Thank you Memphis.”
