The game was highlighted by standout performances from Dain Dainja and PJ Haggerty, each contributing 22 points. Dainja also dominated the boards with 11 rebounds, while Colby Rogers added 15 points to the Tigers' tally. Moussa Cisse matched Dainja's rebounding effort, pulling down 11 boards. The Tigers overcame a slow start, trailing 24-18 before launching a 14-0 run that shifted momentum in their favor. Their defensive prowess was evident, holding FAU scoreless for over four minutes during this stretch. In the second half, Memphis extended their lead with a 12-point surge, ultimately putting the game out of reach with a 13-0 run, highlighted by Haggerty's eight points during that span. The Tigers' aggressive play on the offensive glass resulted in 16 offensive rebounds, leading to 19 second-chance points and a total rebounding advantage of 44-33.
For the Owls, Tre Carroll led with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Kaleb Glenn and Leland Walker contributed 15 and 14 points, respectively. This loss marked FAU's second consecutive defeat following a five-game winning streak, bringing their record to 15-12 overall and 8-6 in the conference.
The game also featured a special halftime ceremony honoring former Memphis standout Chris Douglas-Roberts, whose jersey was retired in recognition of his significant contributions to the program.
