SETTING THE SCENE

• The Tigers have scored 20 or more points in 43-consecutive games - the longest active streak in the nation - dating back to a 33-28 win over Tulane on Nov. 27, 2021.

• Dating back to 2023’s win at UAB, Memphis has forced at least one turnover in 19 of its last 23 games. Over that stretch, the Tigers have created 40 takeaways (22 INT, 18 FR).

• Memphis welcomes in over 70 new faces this season that includes 22 true freshmen.

• Memphis, Illinois and Ohio State are all tied with the longest active FBS win streak at seven.

• Memphis moved to 3-0 on the season after a 28-7 win at Troy - the win marks 13-straight victories against Sun Belt oppoenents.

• The Tiger defense has held their opponents to just seven second half points this season, holding both Georgia State and Troy scoreless in the 2nd halves of its respective games. The only score came against Chattanooga in the season-opener.

• The Tigers racked up 430 yards of total offense in the win, their third 400-yard performance this season and sixth consecutive game of eclipsing 400 yards, dating back to the 2025 season.

• Memphis had a 200-plus yard passer and 100-plus yard rusher for the first time this season as Brendon Lewis had 213 through the air and Sutton Smith had 113 on the ground.

• The Memphis defense held Troy to just 40 yards of offense in the first half, the least allowed by the Tigers in a single half since

2023 when Memphis held Bethune-Cookman to 34 yards in the first half (Sept. 2, 2023).

• Memphis limited Troy to just 112 yards of offense - 72 of thise yards coming on the Trojan’s final possession of the game.

•It is the fewest yards allowed by a Tiger defense sinve holding North Alabama to 124 total yards on Nov. 19, 2022.

•The Tigers held Troy to just 49 total yards through the first 11 possessions.

• Memphis’ defense forced six three-and-outs and did not allow Troy to cross midfield until its 12th and final possession of the game.

• Saturday’s win was the first time since Bethune Cookman (2023) that Memphis forced an opponent to punt 10+ times (Troy punted 11x for 530 yards).

• The Tigers held the Trojan offense scoreless in the full game, with Troy’s only points coming from its defense.

• Wide receiver Brady Kluse made SportsCenter’s Top-10 Best Plays after he snagged a one-handed 18-yard touchdown catch in the back corner of the endzone.

• The touchdown was Kluse’s first career score.

• On the first player of Memphis’ seventh drive of the first half, Smith cut right through the Trojan defense for a 50-yard rushing touchdown, his second of the game.

• It was the longest rush of Smith’s career, surpassing a 35-yard run against Chattanooga earlier this season.

• Memphis sealed the game with a redzone stand highlihgted by an interception from defensive lineman Jalen Bell - the first of his career.

INSIDE THE SERIES

• Saturday’s game between Memphis and Arkansas will be the sixth all-time meeting between the programs and the first in nearly three decades.

• In the team’s last meeting in 1998, the Hogs took a 23-9 victory over the Tigers inside then-named Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium

• The Tigers last win over Arkansas in Memphis came in 1994 with a 16-15 victory.
