Haggerty scored 21 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, including crucial free throws in the final moments to clinch the win. Haggerty has put himself into legitimate All-American conversations.
Despite struggling with their three-point shooting, hitting only 5 of 23 attempts (21.7%), the Tigers found success inside, outscoring Virginia 28-26 in the paint. Dain Dainja contributed a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Tyrese Hunter added 12 points.

Virginia led 30-21 at halftime and extended their advantage to 11 points early in the second half. However, Memphis responded with an 18-5 run, taking their first lead at 39-37 with 12:31 remaining.
